Replacement Glazing
To replace broken glass, or to upgrade it to a glazing that offers more protection to reduce fading and light damage.

Mount Replacement
If your mount is dirty, faded, damaged or just looking a bit tired, you can really freshen a picture up and give it a new lease of life by having the mount replaced.

Mount Supplementation
If you have a mounted picture where the mount is original and you want to keep it with the picture, but are afraid that it is damaging the artwork, I can supplement the mount by cutting a museum or conservation grade mount that can sit invisibly between the original mount and the artwork to slow down any further deterioration.

Damaged Frames
Providing it is not “beyond repair” I can often touch up a frame that is scratched or bumped, or reinforce the corners to give it additional strength to extend its lifespan for you. I can’t promise to always find a solution, but if it is within my capabilities I will sort it out for you.

Chipped or Damaged Gilding
On older, gilt frames, (particularly the ones with plaster / gesso detailing) it is quite common that corners become chipped and damaged or some of the gilding is scraped off. I can re-cast missing pieces, gild them and tone them in to match the rest of the frame to give it a new lease of life.

Just to be clear, I do not offer the level of picture frame restoration work that a fully trained Professional Conservator could offer, so if your frame is of particular value or historic interest, I may recommend that you take it to be professionally restored if it is not something I feel comfortable tackling.
