Prices are rising, but Bespoke Picture Framing to FATG standards is still good value when you consider the longer-term investment
The bespoke picture framing trade has not escaped the effects of events over the last couple of years. We live in challenging times, and over the last 12 to 18 months we have (like most other production-based industries) seen price increases. This has largely been a result of scarcity of materials due to competing demands for raw materials from other industries, as well as supply chain issues. This combination has unfortunately result in price increases – my main supplier alone has made 4 price amendments to their catalogue prices on my frame pricing software system since last summer!
Bespoke Picture framing is still however a good longer-term investment. There is no substitute for the quality of materials used by Pure Framing and other Guild Certified Bespoke Picture Framing Businesses. When you want to keep an art investment or anything that you value in the best possible condition, whilst being able to appreciate and enjoy it on display, it is still worth paying to have it done “right” the first time. I have seen so many damaged items brought in to me for “rescuing” over the years that are a result of being framed using inappropriate techniques or materials, often in a bid to save money. It never pays to do this if the item you are framing matters to you – the damage it can cause can be heartbreaking.
I will always work closely with you during a framing consultation to offer you a range of good quality options. This will give you some choice over the price of your framing and you will be well informed about the level of protection the options will offer for your precious items.
